TIER III Engineer

 

·                 Built, configured, installed, and migrated an entire company’s production infrastructure from 2003 to 2012 R2 during business hours with minimal user downtime.  This includes a new HYPER-V server with 5 virtual servers: a new 2012 R2 DC, Exchange 2010, a 2008 R2 database server, and a virtual 2012 R2 Terminal server Farm using 2 servers, Profile Disks, new PCs & Thin Clients, migrating e-mail accounts, data, and more.

·                 Lead Office 365 engineer performing design, migration planning and rollout for various customers using both cutover and hybrid technologies.

·                 I was the lead engineer on a client’s Disaster Recovery Team when they lost all servers due to a UPS crash causing a power spike burning out their SAN.  I had to troubleshoot the issue and rebuild a switch with minimal configuration information.  I had to design and implement a workaround to the downed SAN to get the company running again until the replacement SAN arrived.

·                 I was the lead engineer on multiple Nimble SAN rollouts both standalone and replication partner configurations.

·                 Built, configured, installed, and migrated an entire company’s production infrastructure during business hours with minimal user downtime.  Including a new SBS 2011 server with 9.3 TB storage, a new VMware v5 server with a virtual 2008R2 Terminal server, new PCs & Thin Clients, migrating AD, user accounts, data, and more.

·                 Devised a recovery plan to retrieve users’ e-mail, calendar, tasks, and contacts after their Exchange server crashed. The hard drives were unrecoverable and all current backups were corrupted.  My plan enabled us to successfully restore 90% of the e-mail accounts into a new Exchange server.  Microsoft support was unsuccessful with assisting us to recover the user e-mail data.

·                 Exchange upgrades from 2003/2007 to 2010 at various client sites, migrating all the needed accounts, installing and configuring a BES (if needed), and retiring the old servers.  

·                 Managed or technical lead assisted with over 25 Office 365 installations/migrations.  These projects were for clients from as little as 2 and as many as 68 users.  There were both basic and advanced installations and migrations.
